Cropping and Placement
Vertical Crop: turning your camera to a vertical or portrait orientation to crop your image. This is helpful if you are photographing things that are taller than they are wide.
Horizontal Crop: Using your camera's horizontal or landscape orientation to crop your image. This is helpful for subjects that are wider than they are tall, or the main focus at least is.
Filling the Frame: this is a good idea to define a focal point of your image or the main point of interest that makes your image interesting. This involves filling the frame from edge to edge with your subject. The best way to accomplish this is quite simply get closer to your subject.
